I think I have figured out something about myself... I can handle a glitch game if the franchise mode is incredible. I love building a team and watching them grow.

I know I could go the text sim route, but that makes me feel like a fool for buying a 360. What game have you guys run across that is awesome in terms of franchise depth? I don't care if its tennis, hockey, wrestling... I just want the best franchise mode.

I haven't played a ton of titles, to be honest with you, but a lot of people will say College Hoops 2k8. I just picked it up and haven't delved into legacy yet, but apparently the recruiting is pretty in depth and obviously your team turns over completely every four years. Not sure how good the franchise is in NBA 2k8, maybe someone can chime in on that.

I havent played the new MLB 2k8 either, but I did play about 50 games in MLB 2k7 last year and was having a lot of fun with it. You get attendance numbers, you set ticket prices, etc along with making trades and signing free agents.

I'm not even a big basketball fan and really haven't had a lot of time to delve into the game like I did last year yet...but College Hoops is a lot of fun as far as building the program. Plenty to do and it's nice to see your team that you built/recruited in action.

NBA Live has a very good franchise mode but unfortunately the game play decreases the value.

college hoops as well. The recruiting you have to do, plus consideration for qualities in your assistant coaches is great. You feel accomplishment when you reel in a highly rated recruit who you've been working on for a while. Building a program is harder than it is in other games as well.

NCAA football never was this deep, even when the ps2 version was at its prime.
