I was in the middle of playing an online game in the semifinal in my euro 2008 knockout cup. As soon as I scored my first goal in the 10th minute, these strange colors filled my screen and the ps3 shut off, beeping like 2-4 times. Now, the red light on my ps3 is currently blinking red, while the system is off. WHAT'S GOING ON?

I have the japanese silver 40gb model if that helps at all.

Sounds like the graphics card might have died.

Now when I turn it on it works for about 5 seconds and then immediately has the same problem. AHH.

You'll have to pay to get it repaired, but it will be cheaper than a new PS3 I guess.

I've read several stories (even here, iirc) of guys just calling Sony and getting a replacement pretty much with no questions asked; they just want the serial number and whatnot. Don't freak just yet.
