recovering gamertag

I've been moving my profile to my friend's 360 and back so we can play some games together, and each time it takes like 30+ minutes to recover the gamertag. The file on my 360 says it's like 12MB, which is laughably slow. It's not my broadband, as I can download a demo that's over a gig off of Live just fine.

Why the hell is it taking so long to do this? Does MS do this on purpose to force people to go buy memory cards or something?

Maybe because they don't want people using the same gamertag and just always recovering to save on Xbox Live gold accounts? I dunno, I just have a mem card from the old roster days I use if I have to take the gamertag to another xbox.

30 minutes? I usually have to switch mine back and forth from my 360 to the rec center and have it recovered (both ways) within 5 on a slow day.

Mine was like 20MB and if I was to recover it at my house or at my friend's it took about as long as you say. That is why I just invested $15 or so on eBay for a MU.

Re: recovering gamertag

Guys I purchased a new console & recovered my GT to it. What I didn't do was delete my profile from my other console. After noticing that I lost my HEXIC HD I got on the phone with support & after about 25 minutes I was told to delete the profile on the old HDD.

I won't lose my Game Saves from my old HDD due to deleting that profile?

Also how would I set-up my wife to get online with my Lice Account?

Thanks
