How Gamestop is Ripping you off

Killing Gamestop won't eliminate those consumers from wanting cheaper games. Maybe they can't even play games if they had to buy them all at $60, with no potential for trading the physical copy in. Gamestop fills a niche, and instead of fighting it, developers should take advantage of the amount of people buying used games. You don't think that Burnout Paradise is seeing some nice used sales about now with deep DLC coming? While EA won't see anything from the game selling used, perhaps the game is passed on to a gamer who is interested in the new DLC. EA would potentially get money they wouldn't have received from the original owner of the game.

I hate downloadable games. I want to have the hard copy version of everything I own; except arcade games.

I watched the video, although some what entertaining a lot of the guy's claims are so, so. He complains about his job because of tedious work and bad pay but yet he is the one that worked there for a year. No one forced him to. Also he complains about all these bad/terrible deals but no one forces people to go there.

I go to the same GS for the last seven years or so and have never been pestered or had any problems. Not defending them, but this video was way over blown.

Yeah...I like being able to trade games in, even if I don't get a ton of cash. Sure, I'm probably ripped off by GS vs. going the eBay route, but I personally don't want to have to deal with being screwed by lame buyers on eBay...it's easier to take a game in and trade for credit...

I can understand why devs might want electronic games, but I think that this would cut down on people buying it on a whim used. Lots of people would pay 30 for a used version of a game and not buy it new ever. That would be people not playing their games and possibly getting hooked.

I only trade my games in when they have a promo. Right now its an extra $5 per game if you trade in 3. I ended up getting a little more than I originally paid for 3 older games I picked up this summer.

Gamestop is ripping us off eh? Of course they are, they are a business. They are supposed to be making money.

I honestly feel more ripped off my DLC prices, especially from the MS camp, than I do by Gamestop.

No conspiracy theory here. Gamestop is indeed nothing more than a pawn shop. I hate that place.

Those vids were GREAT! Made me laugh. And its all true. I understand they are in business to make money, who isn't, but their customers service is a joke. Then again, so is Best Buys, Circuit City, Walmart, etc.

Customer Service is almost non existent these days.

I just go to Best Buy now because I know what I want and I get it and their Reward Zone thing is good. I actually get coupons that I actually USE from them. About a month ago I got $40 in coupons and not too long before that I got like $120! I bought 2 Samsung 1080P HDTVs (47" & 42") so thats why but still. I am a happy guy

No more GS for this dude.
