XBOX 360 DVD Player Ir PS3 blu-Ray

My DVD player died recently..So I was thinking of killing 2 birds with 1 stone. How is the Xbox360 player?? I was also thinking of getting a PS3 with blu-ray. But I have a 1080i or 480p crt Hd tv...Any help or input would be great. The games will just be a bonus for me...

I don't believe 360 has an external blu-ray player...yet anyway. All it has is an HD-DVD player and HD-DVD is pretty much dead.

I mean the upconvert DVD player that comes with the system. does it do a good job?? Or is a Ps3 blu ray the way to go....I don't have the best hdtv as Crt HDTV that does only 1080i and 480p..I was planning on getting a upconvert dvd player but mine as well get a system for a few games...

they both upconvert... if u get a 360 now, you'll need either HDMI or VGA to upconvert your dvds... not sure if the PS3 does it the same

I would get a PS3 so you can also have Blu-Ray for the future. They both upconvert over HDMI (360 will also upconvert over VGA if you buy that cable). If I were buying a system primarily as a DVD player I'd buy a PS3 because the 360's DVD drive is kinda loud.
