I thought XBL gold got faster downloads?

The Silver Members get the same speeds. They don't get the new Demos right away and some of the Free Themes and Pictures are for gold members only as well.

I know the silly demo and theme thing. I was silver untill yesterday and will be again when the card runs out. I just get all my demos on PS3 instead for multiplatform games.

Well I hope the new connection is better at least.

If you are doing anything on your computer, that will take priority over your 360 unless your network is configured to do the opposite. If I am downloading a torrent or something, it slows down my XBL download speeds to a crawl.

Also... The PS3, if that's on and logged in while you're on live or even your PC it's a HUGE bandwith hog and will make your net crawl.

Nope it was hooked directly to the 360,I don't have a router since I don't play online enough to have a need for one and it's not wireless either.

Or using FiOS for 30 bucks a month with legit 15Mb/s down 3Mb/s up. When speeds get up to that rate, it is usually the server that is limiting the speed, not the client's capacity.

On another note, get FiOS if it is available where you live. It is amazingly fast and reliable.
