Why the Wii dominates

Exactly, it's not even really competing for the same dollars as Sony and Microsoft (and 3rd party developers in general).

alot of my friends have it for awhile now...funny thing is all they use is the default cd....they do not own any other game. With the 360 or ps3 they own plenty. It may sell alot of units but does it sell alot of games?

it sells plenty of games, or more like plenty of Nintendo games. Of course, wii sports and wii play are bundled in for things, which drive sales. Wii Fit has also done pretty well. After that, it's pretty much all Mario stuff. Even the Mario and Sonic at the Olympics game has sold over 6 million copies.

That article is a bunch of BS. I'm sorry, but calling the Wii a competitor is a slap in the face to the PS3 and 360. Nintendo found the niche market for the time being, but it isn't even close to being a "next-gen console". Comparing apples and oranges.

I have owned a Wii twice, and I don't see how anyone without kids in the house could possibly enjoy the system.

From an adult's perspective, I don't see a single thing the Wii does better than the PS3 or 360.

I have 2 kids and our Wii hasn't been on in 6 months if not longer. In fact my youngest wants a 360 for X-Mas. She's 13.....

I tend to agree with that statement. There just isn't any games that excite me at all for the Wii. I enjoyed RE4 and that was about it.

The Wii is simply the most expensive and popular board game over the past decade.

It's played by a majority of familes quite infrequently, so in my mind it's not in the same category as 360 or PS3 in terms of being an actual next-generation gaming console and comparing them is just not accurate.
