Wireless XBL without paying 100$?

I've heard of a way being able to do this without purchasing the 100$ wireless piece. Apparently it involves a laptop and an ethernet cable from your computer to the xbox? I've searched google and found a way but apparently it only works for some people, and you can't reconnect to the internet with an ethernet cable afterwards.

If anyone knows of a simple way with Windows XP, help a brother out.

How well does this work? I'm kind of weary not being able to use my ethernet port for internet anymore after I go through the process.

You can use the XBox1 wireless adapter. It's not as sleek and sexy, but it will only set you back $40-50.

It works fine. I didn't do the command prompt part so I'm not worried.

Found this link hanging around so I decided to post it for all those who might be interested later on. It seems very sensible. I might go through the XBOX joint if it works. Makes nothing but sense to save money. How does the XBOX wifi adapter hook up by the way?

Various Options To WIFI your 360 Besides the $100 Dongle

I just ordered the original xbox adapter for $39.99 at Amazon, yesterday. The official 360 adapter is waaaayyyy overpriced.
