Re: Microsoft: XBOX 360 hits 28 Million Sales

These are 360's sold, not shipped or replaced. This was dumb to say even when people were saying it about the ps2's sales. A console can have hardware problems and still get sales legitimately. If someone is willing to pay full retail price for another 360 instead of getting it replaced, then that's on them. It's hardly a notable percentage though. That's like questioning how many copies of Halo 3 are repeat purchases..not enough to matter.

Just for the record, I've had 5 dead 360's, but have only bought it once. I even only used a Best Buy warranty once, as MS doesn't charge you a $50 per console fee to cover a 360.

not everyones console broke during the warranty period, and they didnt extend the warranty until after some peoples warranties were already up... So some paid to get them fixed for about $150 I think it was, and some just bought new consoles...

MS fully reimbursed anyone who had paid for RROD repairs before their new policy. Even though it sucked, I could see way more people paying that old fee rather than spending $300+ on another 360. Even accepting that people did do that, I don't see how it could ever be in the millions to actually affect the number MS put out.

So then all the PS2 sales are skewed also as I went through 2 with defective lens and I'm sure I'm not the only one.....
Despite it all 28 million is 28 million.

Yes I think this is the case also with PS2... i was pissed that I had to keep replacing my PS2's laser... But some folks may not have know how to replace the laser, and just went out and purchased another console...

Re: Microsoft: XBOX 360 hits 28 Million Sales

I just went out and bought a new one (with warranty this time). I couldnt be bothered to send it in and wait, but I have no patience and a fat checking account.
