hdmi cable for ps3???

i am about to purchase a ps3, and i was wondering what exactly a hdmi cable is going to do for my gaming experience. i have a samsung 32 inch 720p lcd tv. do i have to have this cable for the console to work? do i still have to buy the hd av cables?

if you cant tell, i dont know much about this stuff. thanks in advance

If you want to get HD graphics you will need to buy a HDMI cable. Don't buy them at best buy or any place like that, because they are so overpriced.

I bought my HDMI cable at monoprice.com, and it works great.

u don't HAVE to buy HDMI cables for HD graphics... u can get HD graphics through VGA, DVI, or components.


HDMI is convenient since it's 1 cable that carries a digital signal between the PS3 and TV... I recommend any HDMI cable as they all work the same... as the poster above mentioned... monoprice.com <--can't go wrong there

so would the hdmi cable be the only thing that is hooked up between my ps3 and the tv? so i would not have to buy the component cables?

Get a 1.3 HDMI cable, Biglots has them for $7. I bought the expensive ones from Best Buy when I got my PS3 because I didnt know better. Just bought the $7 for the 360 and its fine.

You don't need an HDMI cable. You can get a set of component cables that will give you HD just fine but you can also find and HDMI cable on monoprice cheap, like under 10 bucks cheap, even less than that depending on the length you want.

Yes, if you have a HDMI cable, it is the only thing hooked up between the ps3 and the tv. You would not need component cables if you have a HDMI cable.
