They need to get with the times man.. people arent being loose with their money

They're well overdue for a significant price drop with all of the consoles they've made, that's just not enough..

but it's also tough for companies. I'm sure if Sony could simply afford to cut $100 off of the ps3's price, they'd do it. They happen to be a year behind the 360 on price right now, and it sucks for them.

Re: January NPD

Every time I see the Wii's sales I laugh. Not because it shouldn't be the case, but because it's just such a statement of how Nintendo hit a home run so many times over. It's a big statement to me that a system with graphics that level up to the original Xbox is spanking these "next-gen" systems.

With the PS3, whew...Do you think The Show and Killzone 2 can add much to this to give Sony some steam, or is it over? I still think it's amazing how the company that gave us the PS2, and how that has been one of the most successful consoles ever, is barely cutting with its follow up system.

Killzone 2 comes out in what, 2 weeks? No, it won't do anything for sales IMO. I'm yet to see any advertising for the game other than print ads. No matter what the reviews say, a lot of people remember the first game, and there is nothing besides it's pretty looks to separate it from from the pack of FPS out there, meaning people aren't going to drop $500 to get the game and system with the times right now.

Every year I think The Show will move systems, and every year I'm wrong. Baseball games just don't excite people other than people on a sports gaming forum. Go to other forums, never mentioned or talked about.

God of War 3 has to be Sony's big trump card, but the first 2 were system movers either, even with being critically acclaimed.

I don't see anything that can pull Sony out of 3rd, but if all 3 systems are selling, I don't think anyone can be upset where you finish. The PS3 still moves 200-300K units a month, for a $400-500 system, that's damn good. I really believe the movement of cheaper BD players killed their momentum. BD players were at Best Buy over the holiday's sub-$200. Then you have kids, who could care less about a BD player being built in, being forced to pay for it. It's a slippery slope for Sony with that.

To move systems, they should have hyped the holy hell out of Killzone 2 (as it looks gorgeous) and then had a price drop right about now of at least $100, but almost feel a $299 PS3 will sell but not what a $249 would. I realize it's a huge drop, but you gotta take risks for rewards.
