how to delete psn account?

hey guys, i have to send in my ps3 for repairs and on the official site it says to deactive my acount..

how do i go about doing this? on the Sony website it says to go to uers, highlight it and press triangle for options, then delete..

problem is there is no delete option? It only says information..

am i doing something wrong?

That's odd...

The menu bar all the way to the right. Select the user. Press triangle and then you should be able to delete that user and account.

I think he means deactivate his console for any downloaded content he may have bought. It's a precautionary measure because if you have your account activated on more than 5 systems and you have to send it in for repairs, you won't be able to recover your paid content. Log in with your gamertag, then go to the far right and select account management. Next select system activation, select PS3 system, select game and choose activate. Repeat the last step for the video option too just in case you bought any movies. Then you can delete your gamertag from the system.

can u deactivate ur account from another ps3 system so your account cant be used anywhere?

You can only deactivate the PS3 you want from said PS3. If I'm reading this (from playstation.com) You can't delete another PS3 system from your account. You must log on with said system and delete it.

Once you go online with your PS3. Head too "account management" you can delete your active system there.

Then when you get a new system you can then log on with your account and activate that PS3.


Don't forget to delete your user on your PS3 that is tied to your PSN account... off your PS3.

well, i gave up and sent it in anyway with the account active..

to be honest, i dont really care either way about it since i only use it for offline gaming and blu-ray

i guess i'll just have to create a new account. I never added any billing information or anything i'd be worried about

You can only deactivate a PSP via the Net portion.
You have to log in with your PS3 to deactivate it.
