An error occurred during the start operation (8001050F)

Your systems will die soon. Mine did this 2 days prior to my blu ray drive dying. Its the crap blu rays sony put in their machines. Happening to alot of systems when they get near 2 years old.

Sony won't fix it either if your out of warranty. I tried the past two days explaining that a $500 console should not break ( 16 months in my case ) from purchase.

A guy at work just had his PS3 die with the same error 2-3 weeks before. The unlucky guy he is, after he flipped over his PS3, turned on his 360 and it red ringed. LOL It's not funny, but it is if you knew him.

Needless to say, he's not happy. Oh, and his PS3 was the 60GB.

So basically they won't repair my system?

It's right around two years old. Never had a problem till the day it dropped dead.

There's no way I'm buying a new system... I thought they would repair mine for a fee though.

It's $150 to have it repaired.
