Problems with DS-Lite's microphone

Have any of you DS-Lite owners experienced problems with your mic?

My son plays Nintendogs and can no longer call for his dog. I noticed that on another game that featured voice recognition, the mic was not registering anything either. There are no Mic settings in the DS lite menu, so I wondering if its just a bad mic.

I read on another forum that Best Buy repairs the mics for $5 - but I am having a hard time believing that.

If I cannot get it fixed for a reasonable amount of $, would an external headset/mic do the trick? They are only around $12 if I remember correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Problems with DS-Lite's microphone

I think mine's is more of a voice recognition issue.

in brain age, it has a problem understanding "blue" and I have to often repeat it in a few different styles before it recognizes it.
