All PS3s to be Backward Compatable (Rumor)

The point I'm trying to make is what if those 150K systems a month isn't enough of a revenue stream to continue producing the platform. They don't have to be #1, but if being #3 means 'only' 150K compared to the market momentum then that may not be enough to operate.

there on pace for there goal and even exceeding it according to e3 so they are operating just fine.

So what's the deal with this? It seems this backwards comp deally has been rumored for over a year now?

Still a rumor at this point but a there may be a litle truth to it. We'll see but I'm sure it won't be soon.

i think the reason why they are waiting on this is because they dont want to give up on the ps2 system and still want it to sell.

I agree with you.... I think they are waiting as well.. they are most likely waiting as long as they can so they can slow down production of the Ps2.. Ps2 is still moving a ton of units for a 10 year old console. If they drop the price enought to make people jump to the ps3, They don't want to be sitting on a ton of consolses that they won't sell. Lets face it, They are probably planning on doing another year of so with the ps2....But a price drop would do wonders for sales on Ps3...On here alone how many people would take the plunge.... We will wait and see but many people have great points.
