Jury is still out on the Jaspers, but they did change the way the boards are made and I beleive they modded the xclamps.

Im asking because I refuse to spend money on another one of these things because of how cheap they are....

...but if there is an alternative to buying another one, or sending for a box from Texas I might reconsider because I liked the system

That said, has anyone had one die while using the cooler all the time?

Mine died and I had the cooler since I got it. My new one I bought, paid ~$50 after rebate and selling old one, hasn't had any problems and I didn't hook up the cooler.

I think the new coolers use external power vice using the xbox's power and thus preventing the overheat. I personally don't use a inter cooler, I changed out my internal fan and put in a whisper fan for about 19.00 and it keeps my board nice and cool.
