Any one ever have a brand new game get a DDE?

was it a dirty disc or a unreadable disc . I am talking about the fn 4 demo off the hdd

Thing to remember is that a DDE isnt always a dirty disc, or scratched. It just means your laser can't read the disc. EA is known for using the cheapest media possible with it's games, so it's no surprise to see this with an EA game.

If you only get this with one game, take it back. It's a bad disc itself and will happen again. If it begins to happen with multiple games, it's your laser and needs calibration.

I've had the same problem with NCAA 10. I was getting a lot DDEs, so I had to eventually install the game onto the hard drive. Even then, there would be problems because the 360 wouldn't recognize the disc until I'd opened and closed the tray a few time.


After the update I read that game installs were smaller so I deleted NCAA off the hard drive and tried to install again. I am trying right now actually. It gets to 40% and I get a message "Can't read this disc. It may be scratched or dirty."

I take the disc out and it is indeed scratched the hell up. There are a bunch of circles on the disc from where the 36- has been eating it. In fact, that's exactly what it sounds like sometimes when I put the disc in, like it's being eaten. I'd try another game, but I don't want to scratch those discs as well.

I also get a lot of "To play this game, put it into an XBOX 360 console", wtf?
