Sony suddenly gets it again

They have totally moved away from Ken Kutaragi's vision. Even though he is the "father" of the PlayStation brands, he was off for the PS3. Got to give it to Kaz Hirai for making the right moves.

I saw those covers earlier in the week and I just hope they don't change the bind of the cover. Reason for it is because I like having everything arranged properly.

BTW the new cover looks much better. They started finally representing the Only on PlayStation and PSN network on the cover last year to a complete redesign now. Looks nice.

While I think the last sentence of the article is kind of fanboy-ish, they needed to move on from the bleeding edge, $600, get two jobs image they launched the console with. This is like a horrible football team refreshing their logo for a new beginning.

Sony has a great legacy with their Playstation brand, so they should have always kept a simple brand identity. When people see the Wii and xbox 360 logos, they know what it means. Sony decided to use a font associated with the once popular spiderman movies for some reason. Then they cluttered their game covers with all the different playstaion logos and fonts.
