Re: Wii Fit vs EA's Wii Active
I've tried them both, EA Active is light years better IMO. With Wii Fit you just pick random exercises (which are mainly balanced based) on your own each day. EA Active creates a work out plan for you and picks the activities (strength, cardio, etc) and runs you through those during what they call a 30 day challenge. It will mix up your exercises based on what they think you should work on.
Wii Fit makes you use the balance board, Active uses the tension band and you can use the balance board if you want. You might want to get a stronger tension band from a sporting goods store though.
Wii Fit does weigh you and calculate your BMI using the balance board. Active doesn't do any of that, but you can just use a scale you have in your house because the balance board isn't that accurate anyway.
With Wii Fit when you set up your profile you enter in what you want you goal BMI to be after a certain amount of time. With Active, from what I remember you decide what level of intensity you want your workouts to be and it tracks your calories burned for you.
I have not tried the new Wii Fit Plus (or whatever it is called). Maybe they improved, but I thought the original Wii Fit was a letdown.

EA Active by a mile.
My wife has used it every day since launch, done like 3 or 4 thirty day challenges. Loves it, lost near 20lbs with it.Comment

Re: Wii Fit vs EA's Wii Active
My wife definitely likes the EA Active over the Wii Fit. Kevin's write-up was pretty good. EA Active is designed to get you working and sweating and provides a trainer to help schedule workouts. The Wii Fit doesn't provide a trainer and has European based workouts that aren't nearly as cardio driven.Comment

Re: Wii Fit vs EA's Wii Active
EA Active.
I'm getting a little tired of it now, but it's a great set of exercises and I'm looking forward to the new one coming in a couple of weeks.
I'm not going to credit it with everything, but I'm down about 30 lbs. and in much better cardio shape.5WG | Facebook | Twitter | fiftytwoplays

Re: Wii Fit vs EA's Wii Active
I might give active a try...Sounds pretty good... Although I am using Billy's Bootcamp now and absolutely love it... I am about to order Billy Blanks T3 on Amazon... Using Billy's Bootcamp everyother day and changing my eating habits a little I have lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks... I weigh in on Sunday to complete week 3... I'm pumped and feel much better about myself... Sorry to go off topic but I'm stoked.... I might go to Sams and get Ea Active as a change of pace to Tae BoComment
