whats the deal with this, i thought it was suppose to include facebook, yes i know u can go to facebook through the browser but isnt there suppose to be a facebook icon? and whats up with the way i have to turn off my ps3 now? before i could just flip the switch in the back, now i if i do that i get a message telling me i turned it off wrong and have to turn it off by holding the power button down for 2 seconds or turning it off from within the ps3.

You'll see it.

First of all, you should always leave that switch on in the back. Just hold the button down in front to turn the system off man, it's not good for the older systems to turn that power switch off every time.

Second, go to the PlayStation Network icon, then click on Account Management. The Facebook icon is in there. You can't browse Facebook from it or anything like that, it just lets you enable options where your Facebook account will automatically post updated when you download things from the PlayStation Store, or earn trophies.

And as DD already explained, you should leave your PS3 on standby - they suggest you do so in the PS Manual.

By older systems, he means any of the non-slim models. I believe the slim doesn't have a switch in the back.

I leave mine in standby all the time unless there is a bad storm. Then I unplug it.

im pretty much sure that you dont need to leave it on stand by mode. stand by mode is just that stand by mode, once it switches to that u can turn it off completely
