I think he's using component cables and wondering if HDMI will make a big difference. In terms of video, shouldn't be a big difference when playing games. If watching regular DVDs...yes. The 360 can upconvert DVDs via VGA or HDMI cables. No upconversion over component cables.

EDIT: You're talking to Raven. Agreed....you need to be using component or HDMI. Composite is the absolute last choice for connections.

You can go to your 360 dashboard and change your reolution settings to 1080p..or 1080i..I just got a 55 inch vizio lcd with 1080p resolution for my 360 and it makes a world of difference at least to me as compared to 720...

he won't have that option because he's using composite cables.

Here's the deal. I just got an Xbox360. At home I have an HDTV(not my TV, TV in the living room), in my dorm room at school and in my room at home I havea regular standard TV. I dont have the money to be buying a new TV right now, I just bought the XBox lol

Yeah if you got a regular tv, you can ONLY you use composite cables. You dont even have an input jack for HDMI on a regular tv. And I doubt your mom will allow you to use the main home HDTV to play your games on.

Yeah I know. I've been playing on the HDTV, although with composite cables. Whats the cheapest you think I could get a small LCD HDTV? By small I'm talking like 20-22"-28" max. perhaps 30" if I can get it not a reasonable price...

Re: HDMI Or Component Cables For XBOX 360?

You have some 22 inches from $228 to $258, they are the Vizio, Phillips and Samsung brand. Got some 26 inches for around $298, again it is Vizio and Sanyo. They have some 31.5 inch Sanyo tvs for around $368. Got some 32 inch Elements in the upper $300 range too.

And you have lots of 19 inch tvs for under $200. Keep in mind these are the low end model LCD tvs. Me myself I would try to get a Samung or Phillips, they are more long term reliable and over all better looking picture wise compared to Vizio and Sanyo.

Just head over to Walmart or Best Buy. Preferably Best Buy because they have way more variety of brands then Walmart.
