wow thats crazy. i work at target and there have been very few ps3's lately. you will find one soon though, dont worry.

that price drop has been great for sony.

Yup, and the fact that the finally are marketing it (with some very funny commercials too!) really helps.

This year will probably be the best year for PS3 exclusives in the history of the system. What started out as a pretty lackluster first party lineup IMO has been vastly improved. GOWIII, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, MLB 10 and the "Preferred Version" of FFXIII will be huge system sellers, not to mention high-quality titles in the 9-10 range.

Don't get me wrong, I still have my 360, still play it, and still enjoy the first-party titles Microsoft offers (along with "exclusive third party" titles such as Mass Effect 2...for the time being at least), but it seems as if MS is focusing more on fluff and insubstantial stuff recently (with the large exception of what Natal could be). Sony seems to be making a lot more headway with the PS3 which is a good thing, it seems as if they're really making some solid strides in their marketing and brand image after the price drop. A job well done so far I'd say.

I think what really helps Sony is there 1st party Titles are really great and plentiful.

Actually, it's never great to have console shortages, especially when some huge games are dropping. March is going to be huge for them, and they need ps3's on the shelves.

Having supply problems months after the holiday rush shows that they really underestimated the potential demand for the slim, and it takes time to ramp up production and get them shipped out. There's also some speculation that they are having supply issues for the 120 GB HDD's in the cheaper model.

Yeah...this is crazy! I want to spend the money and I would do it now but I can't find a single system in my area lol. Now I just want it more because I can't.

Same problem for me. I was in Gamestop a couple of days ago and was in line, and a kid was in line with his parents and they bought the last Playstation 3 that Gamestop had. I just killed myself. If I would of gotten off work 2 min earlier, I would have an PS3 right now.
