Burning games to the 360 hardrive

I can confirm, once the game is on the HD it will never use the DVD to run, that's why the label "Play from hard drive" has been removed. To make the disc spin, you have to delete it from the hard drive first.

Yes before the update you Hit Y and selected "Play from HD" otherwise it played from disk from what I read. Now there is no option so I assume it is auto HD played it installed.

So if a bunch of guys had 360's (lets say in a college dorm) they could just buy one copy of a game, download it to everyone's harddrive then just get the disk when they needed to fire the game up?

Can you run a game from the HD even if you remove the disc once you have started playing?

You can install every game to the HDD, and yes you will need the disc to still play the game. It spins the disc real quick at the start to verify, then plays off the HDD, like like PC games.

Depends on how big the game is, Most games are 5-6 gigs, so it takes 7-8 minutes to install.
