Something strange happened with my PS3

So last year I got Final Fantasy 7 and put in about 40 hours on my PS3 with it. I Loaned it to my friend and I actually just got it back today. I put it in and tried to play it but my save file for the game is gone. I never touched anything, or cleared out anything in the mean time. Needless to say I am a little pissed off.

I just don't understand how this happened.

sounds like a culprit of the leap year mishap that happened on March 1st. alot of people were mentioning that they actually lost Game Saves due to that.

Are you sure your internal memory card didn't get unloaded somehow? Does the entire card not show up on the XMB (memory card utility)?

It probably is the leap year mess based on what you said, but you might double-check the XMB, just in case.

Yeah the memory card was completely gone.
