Good looking out, FF. I'm all out of warranties so this is something I'll keep in mind if I ever have another 360 issue.

MS just repaired my console (Core, I added a 20-gig HDD later) twice and sent it back to me before finally sending me a refurb (date July 2009) early this year.

I have a guy here locally that worked in the Air Force for 10 years and was an Electronics Tech. He does the same thing, buys RRODs and Fixes them.

Have one of his systems and it's lasted me quite awhile. Sells the HDMI ones with Cables for $110.

meh, I actually bought a system from this guy back in January before he started offering a 1 year warranty and I got the E74 error a few days after my 30 day warranty ran out. I "fixed" it myself, but it happens again every now and then.

That's one in how many he has repaired sold, and he still gives a one year warranty, so your still covered.

Look and read the guys feed back from the beginning, there is one that I see didn't work out, and he replaced with another, so there really no issue. Guys need to read his feed back.

I keep my systems well maintained anyway, so I'm not worried, I had my first launch 360 for 2 years with Zero issues and sold it on eBay years ago. IN 2 years I had no issues.

I'm a Tech-Specialist for a living, that's my Job. I know how things should be build and how things are built like crap. From working in the IT field, I know the things this guy does and uses, and I will bet It's better then what MS does in there factory's before they sell them. From the looks of how he repairs the360. I will bet your system will last you a good amount of time, if one fails out of 100 or even 50, that's still not to shabby, all I know is I feel confident my system will last.


To each his own, I think the guy does really good work. Heck, If I had the station he had I could do this my self.

I still need a power supply and controller though. I can cobble together a HDD myself, and I have HD cables in a drawer somewhere.
