xbox 360 - background download

so i never really used this feature of the 360, but have a few questions about it. i tried googling and youtubing to find some answers, but i wasn't successful. i did read the download occurs at a much slower speed since the console is "shut down", but a few questions remain...

- does the 360 automatically turn off once the download completes?
- is it bad for your 360 if you use this feature? - i mean sure they put this feature in, but it is better not to use it so you don't add extra wear and tear

if i could get some answers from some of you who use this feature or if someone could leave a link, that would be great!

yes, it will turn off after the downloads are complete.

i use this a lot, starts some downloads, then leave for the day or so and when i come back the system is off.

Yes the 360 will automatically turn off. Also it's certainly not bad for the 360. If anything it's better to download like this because most of the console is powered down which allows it to use less energy, run cooler, and saves it from extra wear and tear.

This is one of the nicest features there is on the 360 IMO. I use it often and with no issues.
