When did they start packing Elites with 250GB HDD outside of those Splinter Cell/FFXIII bundles?

It makes a world of difference. No noise to speak of, slightly quicker loading, and I believe less wear, so I don't anticipate this one crapping out on me.

That's why 20 GB HDD really is worthless, unless you only play one or two games.
This! Installing your games is a huge benefit and can increase the lifespan of your system. Pretty much every game I get, I install to the HD. There's still a ton of space left on my HD, too.

How much space does each install take up?

Actually the ones with games are 120, but that's still a better deal.
Before Christmas 2009 all the way to current day.

And to the above post....around 4.5 to 6.7 gigs, depends on game.

Typically between 4 and 6 GB, depending on the game. If I'm not mistaken, Madden 10, takes 11 GB.

Plus, all your saved highlights and photos, franchises, rosters, etc., take up a little HD space.

So it's easy to run through 20 GB in a hurry. I'd spend more to get a bigger HD.
