LOL man what a whirl

Go to gamestop and its like, alright I want to trade this PS3 fatty in for a slim.
Cool so we're talking about the Slim (wife comes along so she's asking questions about it)

By the time dude rings it up, he asks me do I want to use the dough for a 360. I just look at him like uhhh, haven't we been talking about the PS3 all of this time... So he gets it right after he tests the system and rings everything up.

Then I have a few games I want to trade in. I have two particular games from their advertisement that, you can trade in 2 of these games and get 40 bucks off of Crackdown 2. So he instead rings up all of the games at once, was oblivious to the deal even though I told him about it, even though they have advertisements all over the store... then he still asks me if I want to give him 5 dollars to pre order the game.

Im like ummm yeah man, give me the 5 dollar pre order... Now the entire time his manager is standing behind him who also told him to just add 20 bucks to 2 games for the promo but he had no idea how to, so he re-rings up the 2 games seperately after we go through the entire process with the paper opened up in his face before he could understand... 2 game trade in = $40 towards Cradown = preordered already.

Must've left the store with 4 reciepts sheesh.

Needless to say I had to ditch the fatty although it never gave me a single issue, with the original box and everything 2 years old and still tip top.

Now on to the slim life

Same here, just did it tonight...I only did the system for the slim so have one reciept haha

It's definitely a lot smaller, and probably quieter...glad I did it, now I don't have to worry about lens issues or something on my fatty.

Worth it for 100ish bucks IMO, with the bigger HD and the nicer controller, along with the nicer system it works out.

My data transfer seemed to go fine too, thankfully.

I'm also looking into getting a smaller entertainment center (I've got a big honkin Ikea hand me down right now), so the smaller PS3 will be better, along with the smaller 360 when it comes in.

I guess it's console hardware update time lol.

How does GS make much money off of this? If they sell the system bundle for 250 why wouldn't someone get the better controller and bigger HD for 50 more?

Honestly, backing everything up via flash drive is the easiest way to go, IMO.

All you really need is your Game Saves (maybe pics/videos).

As far as Refurbished Slims, if Game Stop has them then yes.

Yeah Brett, that really is all you need. Everything else can be DL'ed again from the PS store or from the respective games. I did this last night in preperation of the switch.

I did have some music, a few pics, and some mlb 10 vids I transfered over too.

Will gamestop accept a system that has the warranty sticker removed? i fixed my PS3 from the ylod and I would like to trade it in, just wondering if they will still accept it or not.

I'm exiting the world of Playstation and getting a second 360 with this deal. I can get a new arcade model and have 50$ to put down on a game, even before I trade in my games and extra controller. The PS3 just isn't for me, I don't care about baseball enough to justify holding onto it any longer.

They are not true refurbs, all they do is wipe them off throw them in a box a resell them. I also updated from fatty I bought off ebay 2 years ago well worth it if you ask me.
