Hell no it isn't, unless you watching a crap load of blu-ray movies on a regular basis. Like the other guy said, majority of videogames are in 720p only, maybe 10 or 12 are in 1080p, IF that many, which I doubt.

I don't mean to hijack this thread or anything, but what do you guys think of this?

Great price. Just moved into a much smaller place then what I had before, so a 42 wouldn't be so bad in the living room...and when I move out in a year it will go nicely in the bedroom once I upgrade.

Thanks for your opinions guys. Definitely more to think about. Really like this Panasonic Plasma too, was just worried about burn in with them.

Plasmas don't burn in as nearly as bad it did years ago.

Hehe alright thanks for the input. I was interested in the cheap price, free shipping, and 2 year warranty. Guess I'll keep looking around. Once I read Daewoo, the first thing I thought of was:

i bought my first plasma back december (merry christmas to myself haha) and after reading around here and avsforums i was freaking out about having to break in the tv, and burn in. once the set got to me...it was too beautiful. i said **** all this, i'm gonna use it how i want. you will see some image retention, but that clears up as soon as you start watching something full screen. there's also an option in the settings that will scroll a white bar across the screen to get rid of IR and help prevent the dreaded burn in.

Great price, but it's not gonna be the greatest of TVs. Will be fine if you are only looking to spend $430 though

A very good TV! There is also - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Panasoni...&skuId=9887104
I think the one you linked is the G series which is their newest line. Might wanna just compare features see what you are getting.

Burn in isn't a problem. I left my TV on the Netflix screen for 3 hours, all you have to do it play video for a little bit or it has an anti-IR thing that makes a white bar go back and forth and it's gone. Ya, because of the technology it happens, but I will leave it on one channel for a sports game and it's not a problem.

Do you still want to go up to your $2,100? You could go with surround sound, and look into getting it professionally calibrated(I'd say from someone other then best buy)
