Unless you can find something cheaper than this right now, might not be a bad idea to jump on at $39.

Your right a increase is still a increase. But 84 cents a months more is not going to change my view on Xbox Live. Basically my point, the increase is hardly anything over 12 months. Roughly 3 cents more a day.

Does the lock in just append to your current subscription? If so I'll just get that now and be set for a year and a half or so...

They should have made this announcement when they were making some big update to Live, that would have made it easier to swallow...

Either way I'll suck it up and pay for Live, but sucks to get a price increase without getting added benefit now...

Yes but you aren't paying an extra 3 cents a day to MS, you have to fork over the $10 right away. I think that total amount will scare off some people from renewing their membership, especially if they don't play online much or just don't have the flexibility in their finances to afford it at the new rate.

Yeah, you can add 2-3 years worth of cards to your account as an example and it will start at the end of your current membership. That is a nice feature that MS has in place.....buying up 2-3 years worth now might not be a bad idea.

I'll have to ponder this...Amazon usually has some deals out there, and I know I'll always have Live for a while...Sucks to pay up front, but I'd rather save and not have to worry about it, and thankfully i'm in a position where I could pay now.

I thought Amazon had them going for $34.99 recently, but might have gone back up again.
