The reason why I ask is, The ps3 I have had the 250gb, which I pulled out and sold, I bought a 500gb 7200rpm HDD and put it in my ps3, but I know my self it will be a waste in the long run. So I'm going to use that drive in my dell mini. I don't download many things accept games, and most of the game are under a gig, so I then bought a brandnew SSD of this guy at my job, it is 64gb WD SSD, I want to use this in my PS3. Link I said I don't put pics or movies or pictures on my PS3, do you think I can service just with the 64gb SSD.

Re: PS3 HDD......

So you sold the 250 that came with the system and will now be purchasing a SMALLER HD? Why didn't you just keep what was in there and just buy an HD for your computer in the first place?

I wanted to see the difference between the HDD speeds.

I sold the 250 because I didn't need it and it was brand new. I have other HDD always on hand though.

Dude, why would you go from a 250GB to a 500GB to a 64GB HDD? I think my head hurts at this point.

LOL, the 250 was being sold from the minute I got the system. I got the 500, and the 64 is an SSD, did you read that part, as you know an SSD is suppose to be faster then an traditionally HDD.

Re: PS3 HDD......

400GB, 5400 RPM. I believe it allots about 372GB for me to use and I have taken up about 240GB.

64GB wouldn't suffice for me, so I wish the best of luck to you. It really depends on how you use your system. I have 49GB of music on the system alone and record/archive full length softball games in 720p and 60 FPS. As you can see, I need the space. You don't store this stuff, so I think you will fare just fine.
