Ps3 Audio from TV and stereo, delay in sound

I have my ps3 hooked up with a hdmi cord and the basic A/V that came with the system hooked up to my stereo, there is a delay in sound coming from stereo, makes it sound like a slight echo. I want them to come out at the same time for a more surround sound, can anybody help so I can sync the sound together? Thanks

You may need to hook it up via an optical cable when using HDMI. Analog might not be cutting it for audio combined with the digital display. Just a guess.

Yep thats how I have mine hooked up and I have no problems at all. Although it could be some kind of sync issue with the reciever.

Yep... Really should hook up via optical cable. Makes all the difference.

Yep. Don't feed the beast the worst audio connection if you can go with optical.

It's almost a night and day difference in sound.

Rock while others are saying go Optical, which you should do, it will still echo, the only way to get rid of the echo is keeping the sound on your TV off and just running it through your stereo/srs system with the optical cord.

I have mine hooked up with the optical cord straight to my srs system, and HDMI to my TV and still get the same echo you speak of when the TV speakers are on.

Also just fyi, there is a setting on the PS3 where you can use multi out audio. It works well, however it turns 5.1 srs to 2.1 stereo using your srs system so i don't use it myself.
