Lockheed Martin was reportedly hit by hackers. We shouldn't be naive here in thinking it's a bunch of "nerds who can't get laid." There are organized groups that pinpoint their aggression on specific targets and cause havoc. They can be operating from anywhere in the world and their trail is virtually impossible to trace.

It's like a digital form of terrorism.

While I agree Dave, that thinking of them in terms of "nerds" is completely off base. There is something wrong upstairs with each individual involved. There is something so wrong with a person who sits back and devises and coordinates this type of malicious effort.

Somehow in their mindset, they feel like they are doing the right thing here. These guy's probably feel one of two ways. Payback for stuff that has scarred them for life, and this is a form of sub-conscious vindication.....or.......

A heroic embodiment that makes them feel like they serving the people, and taking it to the man.

Either way, they are messed up in the head.

Or a third option, they are lonely and have no personal social skills so they feel the need to do whatever they can to fit into what they view as an exclusive community.

I don't really want to stick up for these guys, but this could be there way of getting satisfaction. I know they probably think some of the stuff we do is weird. Now, me lifting weights, or running doesn't really hurt anyone like hacking a company does, but they(hackers) probably judge me about it like we judge them for this.
