Does Gamestop buy a pre-owned HD PVR Gaming Edition?
I was just curious if anyone knew if Gamestop will purchase a used Hauppauge HD-PVR (Gaming Edition). They sell them online, but not used so I wanted to make sure.

I doubt it, but if they did you wouldn't get spit for it. Ebay is the way to go.
Actually, you'd be surprised. I once returned a Logitech racing wheel, stuck out my hand and said, "Aaaaand how much will I get back for this bad boy today?" The guy leaned over the counter, tilted his head down, and loogied right into my palm.

But no, you'd be better off selling it online somewhere. Honestly, if I didn't already own my HD-PVR, I would ask if I could buy it off you. I'm sure some people on OS might take a look at it. There's a group of posts in the gaming section where people were talking about it as they helped me find the best deal online once, and I think one or two others were intrigued by it.

You just bought it a few months ago. What you do move on to the El Gato ?
Thinking about that one or the Happauge PVR 2, I have to do some more research. The El Gato caught my eye because Steve's screen shots of Madden he posted on Twitter. I think they look slightly better than the Happauge.

What the ****, when did that come out?!
Great, I need that too. I'm sick of the component input, and it is the only flaw the PVR has.
Show me where you sold yours?
EDIT: Nevermind, it appears the PS3 can still only record through component with this thing (due to HDCP on PS3).
Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60

I don't know about direct plug & play thru HDMI using the PVR2, and but you could actually use HDMI with the original Hauppauge, using a converter (add'l hardware) to bypass the HDCP. I thinking about picking up the DVR 2, and I will certainly give it a try using the direct method.
It should be noted that the latest software update for the Hauppauge DVRs now allows you to get 1080p/30 out, using the 1080i PS3 component in. So that kind of makes the workaround moot. While still not as neat wire-wise, the video quality can be obtained.
