How else would they get rid of all those refurbs??? Seriously cool for those that get it. Personally let my Gold expire during one of the many RROD periods I experienced so no where near 10 for me.

I don't think that matters. Even if you don't have Gold anymore, you'd still have Silver, meaning you're still an Xbox Live member technically.

Pretty sure it's just a Gold number reflection as the number definitely reset when I started it back up. Only at 4 or 5 now and I had a 360 in December and house is wired so I was online as Silver and a Gold by early the following year (can't recall exactly when).

How to see if you have 10 year status...

I'm in 2003, didn't have a Xbox when Live launched, otherwise I would have been a 2002'er

Just checked on my first 360 and it said "tenure 10 years", so cross my fingers.
My second 360 is only 3 years.

Checking on your 360 is easier. Just go to the "Social" tab, go to your avatar, select it, then d-pad to the right (the next screen) and it should be there. Of course under "tenure"
