PS3 3D display - is it worth it

Does anyone have one? Is it worth it? I saw the Hobbit and 3D and now I want one.

    What is a PS3 3D display?

The PS3 can play 3D games/movies and it looks nice. I really enjoy it.

    NCAA: SMU, UTA
    NFL: Dallas Cowboys

It's cheap, I don't regret paying $99 for mine, but I used the 3D once and don't intend to use it again.

Too small IMO for prolonged 3D enjoyment.

I don't have one, but you get 24" of screen for $500(that's msrp, I didn't research the price). Seems like a ripoff.

I did use the SimulView technology at best buy. You have two image on screen like you do with 3D. Player 1 has glasses that allow him to see what his screen is doing. Player 2 can see only what his screen shows. So both players have full screen views on the same TV. Not sure if a normal 3D TV can do this or not.

It can't, and I think only certain games support it.

Note that the PS3 often also has to reduce the visuals/resolution to play games in 3D.

Really, as to this specific product, pass unless you can get it at a throwaway clearance price like I did on the Wednesday before Black Friday. I have it set up next to my several year old 24" Dell and will probably go back to using that one as my primary after using the Sony for a month.

You can do it with the LG LM7600 series and above.

I have a 3D HDTV, but not the PlayStation TV or whatever it's called.

I like it for some things, not so much for others. That's really all that I can say about it.

Right. I don't have that one, nor have I actually seen it in action.

I've read mixed reviews on these where some have had issues with the TV set right out of the box and others where there has been no issues at all. For $99 its worth a gamble if you can get it from somewhere where they have a good return policy. I know some places around Christmas were selling it for $99 to clearance these out.

                      How much was this?

                        It's only $179 now.

I only paid $90 bucks for mine at Gamestop after trading in some stuff. I like it. I also have it hooked up to my pc for some dual monitor pinball action. 3D works nice. I have a few 3d movies that I have watched on it also. My wife even watched Finding Nemo in 3D with me on it and she normally gets headaches watching 3D stuff and she was fine. I had no interest at all when it first came out due to the price, but as soon as it dropped to $179 I started to look at it. Worth the price to me. Haven't been disappointed by it yet.

Maybe I just don't like mine because it's set up next to my several year old 24" 16:10 Dell or something. Will have to get thoughts from whoever ends up using it at a LAN I'm taking it to as a spare at the end of the month.

Also didn't appreciate needing to drivers or whatever because I have an ATI/AMD card. Bleh. Oh, and Windows 8, so had to 'buy' software to play a Blu-Ray.

no, it's a piece of garbage.

just google around for it. There's been tons of problems and there's a reason it got clearanced out everywhere.
