In Australia some brand new big name titled games only recently started becoming available for $69.00 and that depends where you shop.

EB Games regularly sell brand new titles for between $89-$99. For example Metal Gear Rising Revengeance cheapest price is $79 but EB sell it for $89. Special editions of big titles can go for $120 and upward.

If we only had to pay $70 for a new game it would be amazing. Given the strength of the Aussie dollar vs the US dollar in recent years we have not seen much gain in gaming prices. Pre owned games are also high, but as this generation winds down we are starting to get more titles below the $20 mark. Hearing you guys pick up the same games for a few dollars sounds incredible and something us Aussies can only dream of.

Next gen prices will likely hike even higher here making gaming very, very expensive indeed.

I buy 2 games at full price . Call of Duty and NBA 2k.

Every other game I wait for it to get 30 and below.

Now NBA 2k will be the only game I buy at full price

Same here. Very few games I get at release and will wait for used or price drop.
I don't game nearly as much as I used to and even the new systems have lost some excitment for me.
Don't know why .... but that's the way it is.
May live the next gen on Youtube "let's Play"

$70 for a new IP from a proven developer ok. $70 for the next Madden or Call of Duty no thanks.

why should i be thankful for paying $70? nowadays the more you pay, the more glitches the game has.

Games are coming out with more glitches than before. Same thing will be for the next gen. Paying more to play a game with more glitches.

They're also a lot bigger and contain a lot more code than before. The bigger the programming the more glitches there will likely be.

I can handle glitches or bugs so long as they don't kill the game, but I want a game that will last me a while. I don't see myself buying a game that only last 10-20 hours at full price.

$70, eh, no big deal, this hobby cost and you have to pay to play. The only games I have to have on day one is the new NHL and and pretty much any RockStar game.

Besides, I have such a backlog of unfinished games, I don't need too much from the new generation except NHL and TW.
