Anybody Not Going Next-Gen This Year? Why?

I just hit the cancel button on my PS4 Launch Day w/ Battlefield 4 Amazon preorder.


I won't be able to play it until next year sometime and I'll just get one then.

I'm just looking forward to the return of the rpg on pc next year. Games like Wasteland 2, Project Eternity, Divinity: Original Sin, Might & Magic X, Age of Decadence, Dead State, Grimoire, new Torment...

If they actually bring the focus back on things like gameplay, better AI, more content, instead of flash and dash, cinematics, things of that nature, maybe it'll peak my interest. With the direction the industry has gone over the last decade, I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not going next gen right off the bat. It's a mix of financial pressure, and just waiting to see if there's anything with the Wow factor to warrant a purchase. I had some good times with my Xbox 360, but towards the end I was picking up games and they would just sit there in their cases not being played.

I think I'm going to instead save up for a decent PC and go that route during next gen.

I'm going to wait awhile. Mostly due to lack of games that I want at launch. Plenty of games that are still coming to the PS3, Vita, and 3DS. I'm not in a rush.

The Watch Dogs delay has pushed my PS4 purchase back to Spring '14, approximately around the time The Show releases. There's just not enough pop in the launch lineup for me without that game.

I'm in the "I'm waiting" group as well.

There's no must have games that I need and with GTAV, 2K14, ACIV, BF4 and Batman still on the current gen, there's no rush for me to get it until at least next fall at the earliest.

This post just convinced me to wait. I have a PS4 preordered but I only play NBA2k so I'm going to sell mine.
