Re: Best Next Gen Sports Experience So Far

FIFA 14 hands down and it isn't even close. When another sports game gets a stadium full of people chanting, singing, jumping up and down and waving flags during the game, let me know. I own all sports games and none of them have the type of crowd and atmosphere of a stadium full of people like FIFA 14 has.

Re: Best Next Gen Sports Experience So Far

I haven't played Fifa, but I do not think Madden captures the experience of NFL football. Take out the word experience and I might change my tune. I had 2k. I'm just not a basketball guy so I couldn't get into it. Ultimately, sports games IMO need to go a long way. I'll just say it this way, I enjoy Killer Instinct more than any of the sports games. I play Madden on 360 even though I have it on X1. I never play it on X1 because to me the difference is not enough to warrant spending time playing it on NG when I have an online CC on 360. Lastly, I played the Titanfall Alpha weekend. To me that was an experience. While Ryse: Son of Rome has pretty simplistic game play that was an experience to me. I don't get that same sense from sports games. I think I'm becoming more of a general gamer and sports games are becoming secondary. This could change, pending Madden this year, but I'm not going in with any expectations whatsoever.

I feel like im watching a real basketball game on TV when I'm playing NBA 2K14.
Madden is nothing but a port, i dont know what the OP is talking about, its just a tuned version of current gen. Absolutely nothing is next-gen about Madden 25 on PS4 and XboxONE, nothing.
I think you put 2k14 perfectly by saying it looks great. If only I didn't feel like I was in forced animation hell for half of the game I might think more of it.

For many a port of Madden and allowing the current technologies to stretch it's legs a bit more is a fantastic first step, especially with the pessimistic bunch exlecting another Madden 06 debacle. I compare it more to getting an upgrade for your PC and playing some of the same games. You enjoy a bump in graphics, frame rate, etc. That's effectively what we got with Madden, the engine(s) able to calculate and make decisions more frequently and fairly drastically affecting gameplay imo. The people I'm playing with are why I would have stuck to previous gen, not the game itself.

Love this game.

FIFA has been in my ps4 since Christmas, except for league games for madden.

I don't even watch soccer other than the World Cup but this game has me hooked.

2k is also a "real" next gen game to me. It's the best looking game on ps4.

Re: Best Next Gen Sports Experience So Far

I've played FIFA more than anything and it's not even close. I've enjoyed other games but FIFA has been the most fun with the least complaints.

I was really looking forward Killer Instinct but the new controller killed it for me. Maybe it was just because I haven't played a fighting game since KI Gold but I was not comfortable with the new controller for a fighting game.

NBA 2K14 for me, though the server flaws have been enormous. I don't get the hype for FIFA. To me it plays a lot like last-gen. Dynamic crowds are nice but it needs more, IMO.
