I guess as a PSA, it should be noted that you can take your PS4 offline, either through the options screen or removal of ethernet connection.
This will allow many games to function. Some, like Destiny, no.

Nope not the same. Netflix offers a bunch of movie contents so I can see why people pay for it. Playing online for free is different. We still have to buy games to play online.

Netflix is a service, just as online gaming is a service. Arguing the content of that service as a variable in this case is just arguing you don't think you should play online games, which is a tangential opinion to what is going on in this thread.

Very much hearsay at this point, but i've read (Twitter) that Anonymous is actively helping Sony rebuild their servers.

Wrong. Anonymous already said they're not interested in helping Sony or Microsoft.
