Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

I have the Dell Alienware 1900R.

It's a curved and ultrawide 34.1" 1440p IPS monitor with G-Sync. It can do 120 Hz in overclocked mode, but I don't use it. I sense a little bit too much chromatic aberration, and when combined with the Super Fast refresh rate to remedy any input lag you get some motion blur. Plus, with the way I max out my games' visuals, hitting the 60-100 FPS mark seems to be all I can achieve anyway, and it still looks damn great.

It's rather expensive with few ports, but it absolutely suits my needs and for all other intents and purposes is a monster. Hardly needed any calibrating out of the box to get proper white balance and shadow detail.

I'm not necessarily recommending it to others, but I'm just saying that it was extremely worthy in the end for what I wanted out of it after a considerable amount of research. I use this for a lot more than just gaming as well, though.

What’s your budget? Also what size, 27” 32” or ultrawide?

Oh man you have a ton of options. I really like LG monitors, good quality and beautiful screen.

I mainly use Asus as the builds tend to be better than Predator and this one has been getting pretty good reviews

i grabbed this a few weeks ago for $360. Really think this monitor is tough to beat at this price point.

This, that is the baby brother of the more popular B version which is 500 dollars

I believe they share the same specs except the 500 dollar one has the usb downstream connections

Those monitors are great for gaming with awesome response times in the 4.4 range and input lag at around 2 to 3ms

This monitor just came out. I heard the HDR is pretty decent on it but it’s a VA monitor which is the only downside
