May consider adding this to the console collection when I have sufficient space for a proper man cave and gaming area.

I don't think they went far enough with this. They really should have made it with the HDMI out (which they did) but also should have made it be able to play PS1 disc's. Why limit us to just pre installed games? No buy from me , I still have my original PS1.

The same reason the NES and SNES didn't have cartridge slot.. that was not the target audience..

Adding it would just increase price and then you might as well find a reg PS1.

Hopefully it is hacked like the Nintendo classics..

Waiting to see if it gets hacked. As is, there are maybe 10 games I would play. Nintendo did a much better job selecting titles.

This thing is $100? No way. I remember trading in my old one at gamestop for like $5.

I still don't see the appeal here though, to be honest. All of the PS1 games are compatible on the PS4 and can be purchased in some way on eBay or the PSN store. I remember playing a TON of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and it's like $5-10...I got all 3 Crash Bandicoot games for the PS4 update at $20 last year. Maybe that's just me but paying for nostalgia on the PS games doesn't work as well IMO since they've made the PS3/PS4 backwards compatible.

You are right, the PS4 is not compatible to with PS1 games (though the thick sarcasm can go). Many retro games are available in the PS Store to play on the PS4 and as recent as the PS3, were able to be played. I personally kept my PS3 to play older games on the PS1 if the mood struck me. Perhaps I should keep it if Sony decides to make a PS3 fatty classic.

It's not like these PS1 games were just useless in 2000 when the PS2 came out like SEGA or Nintendo games as they've been playable and/or fitted for recent consoles.

Again, it's me but I don't see a $100 value.

I can’t tell you how many hours upon hour upon hours me and my then roommate (my drummer in my rock band back in 1992 and 1993) played this game.

I still have it and played it a few years ago on my PS3 for fun. Great great game.
