Streaming only eliminates any mild/slight interest I had in the console to begin with. For those who are interested in the console and will buy it, hope you all enjoy it.

Wait...there's no console? Saw the specs so I thought those were the console specs.

Re: Google Streaming / Console

Specs were of devkits and the units at data centers.

You can pick up their new controller and play a game on a monitor, then on a phone, then on a tablet then on a TV and the switching seemed to take not much longer than it did to type this.

Or use your own controller.

Content creators can send a 4k/60 stream of their gameplay to Youtube directly from their data center.

We'll see what the final product looks like at release, how it compares to things like xCloud (or works with, wouldn't that be something...). Until then the FUD is flowing.

Re: Google Streaming / Console

I watched the Easy Allies live stream on youtube. Horrible presentation clearly not meant for gamers which is why they shouldn't have hyped it up. A lot of tech talk and whatnot which all sounds good and promising but it's just that - promises. That tech demo of the one game they showed had frame rate drops and lag live on their livestream so they're already coming across as liars. Doom Eternal looked bad as well and no enemies on screen or actual gameplay whatsoever. As of now, just seems to be more style than substance. We'll see what they show in the summer.

I’m not so sure it’s as seamless as they showed. When the guy was using the controllers it wasn’t matching up with the game so it was either a video for each device or the latency is pretty bad.

Re: Google Streaming / Console

We've already seen that feature demonstrated last year with Project Stream.

Phil Spencer had a memo that says they'll go big at E3. It'll be interesting to compare streaming options.

Phil Harrison not giving any new info on things we want to know (understandably so)
