Random Pitcher Selection Outcomes
I've noticed that my random outcome is usually the pitcher in my 2-4 spots in the rotation. I've played roughly 12 games and I've only used my ace once. I know the sample size is small, but I was wondering how often everyone is getting to use the pitcher in slot 1 in their rotation. I know my friend hasn't used him once in roughly 10 games. I ask cause I am considering moving my ace down in the rotation order to see if that helps or if I am just getting unlucky.Tags: None -
Re: Random Pitcher Selection Outcomes
I was just about to make a topic about this...
One of my pitchers, Henderson Alvarez, has been selected 8 TIMES while my number 1 pitcher ONCE, and my others just a couple times each... something is messed up I think. Or weird random luck.Comment

Something is definitely messed up. My ace selected just once in 15 tries.Comment

Re: Random Pitcher Selection Outcomes
I've gotten my #5 pitcher 4 games in a row, easily the one I get most. Then my 2 then my 3 then my 1 then my 4. But yah I may swap my ace down to my number 5 slot to be able to utilize him more.MLB: Cardinals

Re: Random Pitcher Selection Outcomes
I may move him down this weekend and see how that works. I seem to get 3 and 4 a lot, followed by 2, 5, 1. More than likely it's just luck but it's interesting to see all of these trends.
I've also only played against 3 pitches I would consider as possible aces, but it's hard to know if a bad/decent pitcher is the best someone else has.Last edited by CurlyDub34; 04-04-2015, 08:43 AM.Comment

Nolan Ryan and Yu Darvish have each pitched one game.
Something is definitely messed up.MLB 15 DD:

Re: Random Pitcher Selection Outcomes
I've had Alex Cobb and Jon Lester in my rotation for about 15 games now and neither one of them has gotten a start. Meanwhile Tillman and Weaver both have a handful as does my revolving door of random #5 starters.
Pretty annoying.Comment

Re: Random Pitcher Selection Outcomes
Glad I'm not the only one it's been weird for.
15 games, only Tyson Ross (my #2) and Chris Tillman (my #5) have started for me. No Cobb, Corbin, or C. Martinez.
It's not like Ross and Tillman suck on this game, I'd just prefer a little bit more variety.Comment

Re: Random Pitcher Selection Outcomes
I could be completely wrong about this but is it possible that the pitcher for the team that is hosting the game is the only one that is randomized? Another thing that might be happening is if the guy with the highest OVR in the rotation is chosen (for home team) then the guy with the highest OVR on the visiting team would be chosen. Another example: If the 2nd best SP on the home team is picked then the 2nd best pitcher on the visiting team would be picked and so on. I seem to recall this is how pitchers are picked in online head to head.
I don't think slot placement has anything to do with it. I doubt they would develop the game to behave that way. Again, I could be wrong. I only have played 10-12 games.Comment
