How Do I Use Inventory Items in DD?

I have searched this forum to no avail so if this has been answered I apologize. I am new to DD and noticed that I have accumulated a few items that are in my inventory like bats, gloves and rituals and most of which can be used in DD. But how do I use it in DD? When I select an item it only shows the market place as an option. Is it only good for a created player? I have not created a player. Thanks in advance.

Bats, mits, ritual items, and batting gloves are used for Road to the Show. Sponsorships are used for franchise mode. Your card collection is what you use to assemble your Diamond Dynasty team.

Create a created player (L1 when browsing your SP cards) and then you can use them for your created player.

Huh...did not know that, but I guess its cause I haven't created a player

Not true. You can equip those items (bats, gloves, ritual items) on your created DD player as well.
