I think it's based on the amount of XP earned during the game. I always get one after playing an online franchise game where you can't sim half innings, but in offline franchise if my brother sims the pitching half or sims to the end if the outcome is pretty well decided, he doesn't always get a card. It makes sense that an extra inning game would give you more xp as you're playing more innings and therefore you trigger more cards.

A tangent on the stadiums; I just noticed the prices in the market, since I keep getting Miller Park and Coors Field. Has the market for the classic stadiums gone up since they took them out of packs, or have they always been higher?
