Batting Stance that you're comfortable with > High Attributes, Period.

    Here is a good example:

    Look at Moustakas power attributes...

Now look at the way I have performed with him.

This is all against real players (Zero played games against the computer)...I feel so darn comfortable at the plate with this batting stance that I don't think is possible for me not to hit the ball really hard at least twice a game with this guy. I have no idea where that power is coming from. So my only explanation is that I just got his batting stance down to a science.

Good chance I wouldn't be able to put those numbers with someone like Beltre or even Mike Schmidt.

Don't get me wrong...if you have the batting stance of guys like Trout and Miggy down...keep at it. But most people online pick up those players then find out they can't hit with them.

Totally agree. I have Brett Gardner's stance down. I have 21 homers with him at leadoff.

It's crazy how much the stance affects your hitting this year

Carlos Santana is this way for me. For some reason, with his stance, I somehow track the ball better and am able to react with solid contact. I could not do this with Schmidt or Nelson Cruz.

Yes, Carlos Santana is a great example. He has an awesome batting stance.

The stance doesn't affect the swing timing, though. It's interesting how some stances just seem to hit better even though there really should be no difference? Or is there a new element this year?

Yeah I don't really understand what people are talking about with different stances. How does one stance benefit you over another? I thought that the timing for each would be different, but that's not something that I have personally noticed.

I could have sworn I read a dev state that stance has nothing to do with timing or hit effectiveness over any other stance.

Even though I know it's just confirmation bias, I still have a tough time believing it. I stroke with Bautista in Home Run Contest but can't hit to save my life with Trout in the game mode.

There's definitely a difference that there hasn't been in other games. Maybe it has to do with the stride? Idk but it's real. It's especially noticeable if you use directional hitting.

I believe it is just personal perceptions with each player. Maybe there's something in the stride, load or bat movement for the batter that could distract for even a split second that could cause you to complete lose track of the pitch. I know that early on, I tried to use Marcel Ozuna, and he does this little bat move when the pitcher is in his motion. It totally drew my eye, and I would completely be off on timing or zone with him.

Carlos Gomez, Stephen Vogt, and Brandon Crawford.

I just cover everything with them. I pound extra bases with Vogt and Crawford especially against lefties. Its confusing because I suck with a lot of players.

Carlos Gomez vs righties. Its batting practice. If I get pitches up in the zone its gone. I use contact swing and don't even try to hit homeruns and I just destroy with him.

The only thing I can see in stances is that some of the more open stances like harper in real life allow me to get around on balls inside easier and closed stances like Tulo allow me to easy cover the outside of the plate.

I think that the stances at least give you a visual tick to make hitting easier.

It's nothing the game is doing, it's just visual cues. I've always felt this way in baseball games. Whether it's the way he wags his bat or strides into a swing or whatever. For example, if guys have a high leg kick or some sort of twitch to begin their swing once the ball is thrown, that's generally too distracting for me in my periphery and takes away from my concentration.

So I generally hit better with guys with "quieter" stances and strides.

I use the most zoomed in batting camera, forget what it's called, so I can hardly see any of the batter when I'm hitting. I've never noticed any difference in my players when hitting other than the hard ratings.
