Conquest Mode - Too Much

Just an overall opinion, feel free the share your own.

Conquest feels like it has too much going on, the idea (much like showtime) was partially stolen from "The Bigs" and is a great idea at its core, just overall I feel like it doesnt run smooth as an experience, there is fun times to be had for sure but they feel like few and far between.
Ironically like DD was along time ago, it just needs to be refined into a simpler format.

My only complaint would be that the CPU takes over your territories too easily even when you have that outmatched with fans, and their is nothing you can do about it

Agreed, should be able to play to defend if you want. The simulations seem to heavily favor the CPU. Ive lost one where I simmed my 15 fans against their 3

I found it confusing for a day or two but now that I've figured it out, I'm hooked, I've almost conqured the whole country though, not sure if you can still play after that (I know you can restart)

I took out the Twins stronghold first turn then I started conquering a ton of uncontrolled territory which allows you to generate more fans. Once you get a ton of fans it kind of turns into a cake walk. The start is the hardest, I have a pretty good team (you can check it out in the post your team thread) and I had to win a few Hall-of-Fame games. Once you get enough fans you can take strongholds on rookie or veteran difficulty

On turn 10, control 50 territories, have taken Colorado stronghold and have yet to be attacked. Now I'm not looking forward to it happening, didn't know you didn't play those.

So I royally screwed up by stacking large numbers of fan (8+) into attack blocks to load up on stronghold takeouts..Ive noticed colorado and KC are spreading like flys on shet

I might restart. I had a run where the twins (I think) rolled through my limited territory. The started with one territory with 18 million fans and just kept steamrolling with it.

I am amazed that people have almost taken over the whole country. The sheer amount of games you have to play in an attack phase is nuts when territories start getting larger

I have to strategize better next time.

I have been down to needing only 1 territory for a day and a half. Can't complete it because every time I win the game it gets added to queue and won't let me take it

You actually don't have to play any games if you don't want to. I've taken over about half the board currently. I skip conquest phase and sim attack phase battles. You don't even have to play a game unless you are attacking a stronghold. If a CPU attacks a stronghold of yours, you can sim that as well.

Early on, I needed conquest phase to whittle down the next stronghold I wanted to conquer but now I generate enough units per turn that I just skip all phases now.

I can't agree with anything that you are saying.

Battle Royale is quite possibly the best addition to a sports game since Madden's Draft Champs mode. It's so surprisingly good that it's the only thing I've played since release. It gives "offline" DD players something to do, the rewards are amazing and the 3 inning games are perfect for testing out teams or casually enjoying the game.

Your "too much" observation also confuses me. The mode is extremely simplistic.

This thread is about conquest mode lol... I really like the idea of Battle Royale but the unstable servers make it undesireable to me
