getting out of hand again? it just seems like every game i play the opposing player plays the bunting game. and theres many times animations of your players cause so many problems that a lot of the times the player reaches base even if you play to defend the bunt.

Seems like some think twice before attempting to bunt if I put corners defense on.
Also, use the throwing mode where you can control how hard you throw. Sorry I can't remember the name. You can throw in the yellow and get runners out in most cases. -

This has been a problem, always will be. People who suck at baseball will just sit there and hold triangle because bunting is way too easy in this game and they know they can't hit any other way. I put corners defense on for RH and 3B cover drag for LH. You'll stop most of them, sometimes some dumb stuff happens, but that should take care of it. I'm honestly annoyed I have to do that stuff in the first place. Yes, some players deserve that kind of defensive formation respect, but I hate that I have to ask my 3B to cover drag because some jackass wants to bunt with Reggie Stocker when he has 2 strikes.Comment

There's been LOTS of talks (and bitching) about this on the TSN forums. It is a ridiculous "exploit" in the game and just a total pain the ***. I realize it CAN be beat by moving corners in etc, but that's not why I play this game -- to counteract exploits. Pretty sure I purchased a BASEBALL game and when you stumble across these idiots it just ruins the entire point of playing online.
SDS needs to seriously fix their throwing animations to combat bunts and a million other scenarios too. Guys triple pumping from left field while somebody rounds 3rd heading for home is ridiculous.Comment

Yeah, it's gross and gets worse as the season goes on. Usually i manually edit my field settings for the 3rd base to be up for bunt defense and the 2nd baseman to be in and that pretty much eliminates the drag bunt for me. The one's that really get on my nerves are the one's who bunt with the likes of Ortiz with the shift on.

One of the main reasons I stay away from the mode. I like collecting, just not playing. It's gotten me offline as well. I've lost about three or four games with the AI squeezing me to win...METS. NY FOOTBALL GIANTS. PENGUINS. HURRICANE FOOTBALL. LEBRON.

Why it's a perfectly fine strategy that I wish guys like Ortiz, Davis would actually use IRL. If you shift on me against an Ortiz, Crush, I'm going to bunt on you. This situation has brought up in the MLB community and people don't have any problems this situation.Comment

Wanna know why guys like that dont do it that often? Its not as easy as it looks and its definitely not even close to as easy as this game makes it, that is the problem. Dropping a bunt right down the line is way too easy and needs to be fixed. You shouldnt just be able to hold triangle and get a perfect bunt with no aiming where pitch is or anything. Thats why they also need to get rid of directional hitting and all that kind of crap where you dont have to do anything but hit a button, but thats a different argument for a different day.Comment
