Can't you set a lineup vs LHP and RHP?

It won't matter. PPL will still stack their roster with all RHH or (more likely) LHH and back out if they have to face a same-handed pitcher. There's no way around this. I'm sure the developers have beaten their heads against the wall trying to find a solution, yet here we still are. Time to accept it and move on.

I'm not sure how it DOESN'T work. It's the same exact squad system, except you can put bench players in the starting lineup given a specific handedness

But the ppl that are the reason for this do. not. care. If you give them an option of lineups, they're gonna stack it and do their best to take advantage. That's why the randomness of pitchers with one lineup option is (unfortunately) the best way to do it.

I get why they did it but in saying that it's stupid. People cried that people either stacked their lineup with lefties or righties or back out of a game (which was slightly annoying but not gamebreaking as it's quite easy to search for another match) so we got this change which completely nullifies platoon players and strategic moves.

Is it not common for major league coaches to platoon LHH against RHP and vice versa ?

They could have at least given us the option to see who we're facing in conquest and offline modes to adjust lineups accordingly, especially for missions with the cards like rookie Danny Espinosa for example who is terrible against righties but decent against lefties.

Good points by all. Maybe just have a forced rotation then but keep it hidden as it is now so your opponent doesn’t know who is pitching. Kills the reality of matching a line up becayse scrubs ruined that, but at least you would get your pitchers in. Last year and this year I find one guy pitches so many games in a row and it’s never my mission guy lol

One reason why one lineup is a good thing is because it helps give starting pitchers a little more value in h2h games. With two lineups guys could have an all right handed lineup. Starting pitchers like Sale or Kershaw wouldn't stand a chance against such a lineup of legends and all-stars so these pitchers wouldn't be much use. Pitching in DD is already difficult as it is.

Was Ken Griffey Jr commonly benched against lefties in real life?

It just doesn't work, the online video game community is awful, they ruin everything. People care way too much about fake wins.

I do agree that offline should be set up differently, but they are either incompetent or just too lazy to program the modes separately.
